Let's face it - we receive a good deal of junk email or email that isn't worth our time reading. So how do you ensure that your invited participants actually read your email invitation and take your survey? Simple - just follow these proven, effective ways to invite survey participants.
- Make sure your correspondance appears legitimate. Don't include words that are typically associated with spam email like "FREE" (in capitals) or "Act Now" in the headline.
- Write a survey title that describes your survey topic - make sure it is personalized to your survey. A good example is "Survey Invitation For AdvancedSurvey.com". It's clear, simple and identifies your organization so users will not likely think it's spam.
- Indicate the Who, Why, What, Where and How in the body of the email. Tell them who is initiating the survey (if it's an outside party, let them know so they don't think they're being lied to). Tell the participants what you are interested in doing with the survey results, where they can take the survey and how the survey will be processed.
- Be sure to let the participant know if you are offering an incentive for taking the survey. This can often make or break a survey's response rate.
- Provide your contact information so users know that you're on the up-and-up. They should have some way to contact you if the survey has any issues. Contact information should include: name, phone number, and/or email address.
